Update on 2021 conference

The conference will be held online, July 15-17, 2021.

Participation in the conference will be free for all members of the North American Society for Social Philosophy whose membership is paid by the morning of July 13, 2021. (This timeline allows us to process email invitations for current members on July 14, in preparation for the first day of meetings on July 15.) We are offering half-price, half-year memberships again, available starting on June 15. Half-year dues including access to NASSP’s refereed journal, Social Philosophy Today, will be $25 for fully employed philosophers, and $12.50 for grad students and underemployed philosophers. Students and underemployed philosophers may elect to pay half-year dues without journal access for $8. Renew your membership at this link: Philosophy Documentation Center. You can log in to your account at any time to check the status of your membership; or you may call 800-444-2419 or email order@pdcnet.org.

This year’s plenary sessions feature a keynote address from Meena Krishnamurthy entitled “Martin Luther King Jr. on Civic Friendship and Faithful Distrust”; a dialogue between Susan Brison and Linda Martín Alcoff; and a Book Award session honoring Serena Parekh’s 2020 No Refuge: Ethics and the Global Refugee Crisis (Oxford University Press). We are also excited to hear presentations, whether synchronous or asynchronous, from all whose papers were accepted this year. We look forward to seeing you online for our conference on “Revolutions and Reparations” from July 15-17.

Membership in the North American Society for Social Philosophy will be required for participation in our annual conference, to be held online July 15-17. In recognition of various challenges posed by the pandemic, no other fees will be charged. Your membership must be paid by 9 a.m. on July 13 in order to be given access to the conference.
