  1. PARTICIPATING IN CONFERENCE SESSIONS

Everyone who is registered as a member of NASSP as of July 14, 2020 is eligible to participate in the virtual conference at no additional charge. In recognition of the financial challenges caused by the pandemic, NASSP is offering memberships at half the usual cost, covering half a year.

Current members will receive an email containing a link to join each Zoom conference session at roughly 3:45 pm EDT. Each day’s session will meet via a different link, sent by one of the members of the Program Committee (Lisa Schwartzman, chair; Janice Moskalik; and Maurice Hamington). When you click on the link you will be admitted to the session. Please note that we are electronically limited to 300 participants.

  1. RENEWING YOUR NASSP MEMBERSHIP

Click on this link to bring your NASSP membership up to date:  https://www.pdcnet.org/nassp

Half-Year Membership Fees:

Fully Employed, with access to Social Philosophy Today, $25.00

Student/Underemployed, with access to Social Philosophy Today, $12.50

Student/Underemployed, without access, $6.25

We need a day to complete the administrative tasks required for admitting members to the virtual conference, so you must have completed this task by July 14 to receive the link.

  1. TROUBLESHOOTING AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS

If you experience any difficulty in joining the conference Zoom sessions, members of the Program Committee will be available to assist you at program@northamericansocietyforsocialphilosophy.org

If you have not already downloaded and installed Zoom, you will need to do so before the conference begins. Clicking on this link will get you started: https://zoom.us/download

We will want to be able to identify you online to maintain your admission to the virtual conference, and to call on you if you ask a question during a session (or to reference questions you pose in the chat sidebar). Therefore we ask that you ensure that Zoom presents you under your real name (you can change this in Zoom’s settings) rather than under another identifier that is unknown to NASSP’s officers.

We recognize that lengthy Zoom sessions are not workable for most people; thus we have tried to maintain the essential elements of a NASSP conference in shorter Zoom sessions. We hope it will be possible to meet in person next July, and we will discuss those plans during our July 16 business meeting. I look forward to seeing many of you online at our conference.

Beth Sperry

President, NASSP
